ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Stuart’s background lies in Linguistic Science, Psychology and Philosophy, subjects which he studied in England, Switzerland and Germany. Following his BA honours degree at the Universities of Reading and Neuchâtel and his postgraduate studies at the Universities of Exeter and Göttingen, he focussed his theses and publications increasingly on issues concerning corporate culture, corporate ethics, corporate aesthetics and their effects on corporate resilience, vitality and personal health; more recently, his thinking has expanded to include the ethical implications of developments in digitalisation and artificial intelligence, including their impact on political, business and private life.
Stuart is recognised as a pioneer in the application of cultural and ethical neutrality in the resolution and the prevention of personal and corporate crises. Whilst he has conducted numerous educational programmes and media interviews on these subjects, Stuart remains a ‘doer’ rather than a ‘theorist’ and keeps a low public profile in order to protect both the identity of his clients and the confidentiality of his work for them.
PROFESSIONAL FOOTPRINT
Starting his professional career in management consultancy in England in the late 1970’s, Stuart has built an immense wealth of first-hand experience with the operational and strategic management of large, medium and small organisations especially in the medical, pharmaceutical, financial, agricultural, food, transport and industrial sectors in numerous countries including Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Jordan, USA, Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Australia and China.
People repeatedly comment on Stuart’s pioneering and visionary work, i.e. his ability to anticipate fundamental topics decades before their importance becomes obvious to the corporate world and indeed society at large. Working as a hands-on manager, a trouble-shooter and a committed advisor, the central thread in Stuart’s track-record is the speed and accuracy with which he anticipates, analyses and resolves problems of a corporate or personal nature, particularly in the areas of visions, strategies, culture and ethics, i.e. in those areas which do not easily lend themselves to digitalisation. The greater the complexity and acuteness of a problem, the more Stuart is ‘at home’ in contributing to its solution.
